Belmonte urges QCPD to reinstate cop who dragged VP Sara3 min read

To rectify an “injustice” committed against someone who was only doing his job, Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte on Monday urged the local police to reinstate a relieved policeman who claimed the convoy of Vice President Sara Duterte's convoy was passing when enforcers stopped traffic on Commonwealth Avenue.

MANILA, Philippines — To rectify an “injustice” dedicated in opposition to somebody who was solely doing his job, Quezon Metropolis Mayor Pleasure Belmonte on Monday urged the native police to reinstate a relieved policeman who claimed the convoy of Vice President Sara Duterte was passing when enforcers stopped the circulation of visitors on Commonwealth Avenue.

Belmonte made the decision to Quezon Metropolis Police District following her clarification with Metropolitan Manila Improvement Authority (MMDA) performing chairman Romando Artes, who stated that it’s solely regular to present courtesy for VIPs — like vp — in public roads.

Belmonte careworn that she didn’t react at first when Govt Grasp Sergeant Verdo Pantollano was relieved by the QCPD, since she was underneath the impression the police officer had dedicated a wrongdoing by stopping visitors.

“Following the clarification made by Chairman Artes, I really feel  that an injustice was dedicated in opposition to Pantollano and have to be rectified, no matter who the VIP was,” Belmonte stated in a press release.

“The cop have to be reinstated as he was merely doing his job,” she added.

Belmonte additionally famous that the MMDA didn’t relieve nor take any motion in opposition to the personnel who had been current through the incident.
