On April 19, the thriller Ok-movie Sleep, directed by Yoo Jae Solar and starring the late actor Lee Solar Kyun and Jung Yu Mi, gained the Rising Raven award, granted to up-and-coming administrators, on the Brussels Worldwide Improbable Movie Competition (BIFFF).
The jury of the competition introduced the winner of the award, stating, “A good stress dominated the movie from the start, and the superb performances by the actors captivated the viewers amidst the unpredictable improvement of the story till the top of the movie.”
Sleep tells the story of Hyun Soo (Lee Solar Kyun) and Soo Jin (Jung Yu Mi), a blissful couple whose life is turned upside-down by Hyun Soo’s peculiar habits after he falls asleep.
Sleep is the debut function movie of director Yoo Jae Solar, often called a disciple of director Bong Joon Ho (Parasite, Okja, The Host), which additionally gained the highest Grand Prix award on the Gerardmer Improbable Movie Competition in Gerardmer, France in January.
Eight Korean movies — Exhuma (Choi Min Shik, Kim Go Eun, Yoo Hae Jin, Lee Do Hyun), The Sin (Kim Yoon Hye, Track Yi Jae, Park Ji Hoon), Devils (Jang Dong Yoon, Oh Dae Hwan, Jang Jae Ho, Choi Gwi Hwa), Goal (Shin Hye Solar, Kim Sung Kyun), Cheon and Misplaced Talisman (Kang Dong Received, Heo Joon Ho, Esom, Lee Dong Hwi, Kim Jong Soo), Sleep (Lee Solar Kyun, Jung Yu Mi), 4PM (Oh Dal Soo, Jang Younger Nam, Kim Hong Pa), Residence (Yang Mal Bok) — had been chosen for BIFFF 2024’s varied competitors sections, however solely Sleep gained an award. 
In 2007, director Bong Joon Ho’s The Host gained the Golden Raven award on the Belgium movie competition.
