Singer-songwriter Sananda Maitreya celebrates 62nd birthday by releasing debut single from new album
Two years within the making, The Pegasus Venture: Pegasus & The Swan, is the brand new album from Sananda Maitreya. Finishing an arc began together with his Prometheus & Pandora LP in 2017, and that continued on 2021’s Pandora’s PlayHouse, this new 41-track file displays the freewheeling adventures he now has in music.
The guitar-based Pegasus facet options the rolling funk of Ben Downs, the multi-layered psych-pop of Life Will Go On, Good Issues, the hypnotic carnival of Camden City and opens with The Birthday Tune – watch the animated video beneath:
Whereas, the gracious Swan facet contains The Archimia String Quartet from Sananda’s longtime hometown, Milan, and The Budapest Nationwide Artwork Orchestra with conductor Diego Basso.
Co-producers on the album embrace Andy Wright (Pet Store Boys/Huge Assault) and Gavin Goldberg on Love Is Blind, Bunny Hearts & The Rugged affiliate Jellybean Johnson on Stroll On and composer Oscar Deric Brown, who helped on The Final Phrase and I Have A Dream. Johnson was drummer in The Time, the early protégés of Prince – a pal of Sananda’s who helped information him.
